News

A visit to the museum halls is an opportunity to learn the answers to questions such as what significance the establishment of nine cement plants in the 19th century had for the city of Opole and what values are still preserved in the material heritage of the old cement plants?

The entire exhibition consists of four parts:

  1. How it happened that Opole became a cement basin.
  2. The history of the nine cement plants that operated in the city of Opole before the war.
  3. The post-war history of Opole's cement plants.
  4. Ways of using cement in the past and today.

There are also interesting archival photographs related to the history of the city of Opole itself.

On behalf of the Cement Plants, as well as the Opole Silesia Museum, we cordially invite you to the exhibition "Cement Plants of Opole. Industry in the city structure", which will be open until June 30, 2023, at the Opole Silesia Museum (Mały Rynek 7, Opole).
